Too Little Too Late (Max)

James smiled. "Yay, I don't want either of them to get hurt. Especially Miley. But, Shooter is already hurt," he said. He was one smart little boy.

Max smiled and locked the backyard door. He also locked the doogy door and went back to his son. Miley laid down in front of Shooter and the puppies went to their mom. They started to nurse

"Daddy, when can I start going to school?" he asked. He wanted to learn to read and write. Shooter was fast asleep. But, he moved and pressed his nose to Miley's. He woke and got up. He needed to go to the bathroom. He went and pawed at the back door.

Max went to the backdoor and opened it for Shooter. He looked at James. "In a few weeks." he said.

"But, aren't I too young for school though. Wouldn't I have to go to day care, then pre-school and then school," he said. He was really smart for his age. Shooter limped out into the back yard. He barked at Max telling him to close the door for a few minutes as he liked privacy when he went to the bathroom.

He laughted softly and rubbed the back of his head. "Your right." he said. Miley got up and ran outside. She also had to go to the bathroom. The puppies were asleep. She went into the backyard and Max closed the door

James smiled. "I love you, Dad," he said. Shooter was staring at the grave of Buddy and growling. He barked at Miley to tell her to stay clear of the grave for now.

Miley whimpered and stayed where she was. She was getting scared and she watched Shooter. Max smiled. "I love you too, buddy." he said smiling.

Shooter suddenly darted towards the grave and was jumped and tackled to the ground by the same wolf that had tried to attack Miley. He didn't yelp as he didn't want Max to know. James smiled and giggled. "Do you love mommy," he asked.

Max smiled and nodded. "Of course I love mommy." he said. Miley whimpered and barked softly. She ran towards Shooter and the wolf

Shooter groaned and got the wolf onto it's back. He growled at Miley telling her to go get Max. James smiled more. "Good, I don't want you two to almost be apart again," he said.

Miley whimpered and ran to the door. She started to bark and Max opened the backyard door. He saw what was happening and he ran outside. He had grabbed something to scare the wolf away and he hit the wolf. He threatened the wolf with the thing

The wolf got out from underneath Shooter and ran off. But, the wolf would be back though for what it had come for. The wolf actually looked like Buddy. Shooter fell over onto his side and whinned. He was in a lot of pain. James got down from his stool and walked to the back door. "Daddy, was that the wolf?" he asked.

Max nodded. "James go back inside." he said. Miley ran to Shooter and whimpered softly. Max went to them and kenlt down.

James went to the puppies and threw the ball across the room. Shooter whimpered and in his mouth was Buddy's collar. He was trying to tell them that the wolf was actually Buddy a golden retriever gone rouge.

Max stiffened back a gasp and took the collar from Shooter's mouth. Miley went to Shooter and gently licked his face

Shooter whinned and laid a paw on the grave and looked at Max. He was telling him that the dog in the grave wasn't Buddy. He was trying to tell him to dig up the grave and read the name on the collar of the dog.

Miley was worried about Shooter and she whimpered softly. Max dug up the grave and read the name. It wasn't Buddy and he widden his eyes.

Shooter yelped and then nosed the collor he had torn off the rouge dog. He wanted Max to find him. He wanted him to bring Buddy home for Miley. He looked at Miley and whimpered. He was telling her he knows that she still loves Buddy. James had gotten in the cupboard under the sink and was playing with the pots and pans on the kitchen floor.

Max got up and went back inside. "James." he said. Miley went to Shooter and gently licked his face

James looked at his dad. "What is it, Daddy?" he asked. He left the pots and pans on the floor and walked to his dad. Shooter whimpered and knew if he didn't see a vet first thing tomorrow he wouldn't survive this.

[i]Buddy was watching from inside the shed. He had always been able to hide in there. He then left the shed and walked to where Miley and Shooter were and sat down while not wagging his tail.

Max smiled. "Go play with the puppies." he said looking at the puppies. He went back into the backyard and looked at Buddy. Miley looked at Buddy and she whimpered softly. Max went to Shooter's side and knelt down. Miley walked to Buddy and she knew that she missed him so much

James went to go play with the puppies. Shooter whimpered and looked up at Max hoping he had done a good job. Buddy sniffed Miley and gently licked her face. He was calming down to act how he normally did. He would need a really good bath though. He was covered in dirt and mudd.

Max smiled softly. "Lets get you inside Shooter so I can take care of you." he said. He picked up Shooter and carried him inside. Miley whimpered and nuzzled her face to his telling Buddy that she missed him so much.

Shooter leaned up and licked Max's chin. He was thanking him for helping him. Buddy was enjoying the attention from Miley. He went over to the kiddy pool and pulled it down and started to fill it with water for a bath. He watched Miley from sitting beside the kiddy pool. He had missed her so much while had had been away from everyone.
