Checking on the filly(open)

Rachel parked her truck and staggered out of the truck. She quickly wakled to Angel's old stall and looked in. She saw a small black filly in the stall and she gasped softly. She walked in and sat down near the foal. The filly looked at her and whinned in a foally way. Rachel saw a bottle filled with milk for the filly and she grabbed it. The filly staggered on to her feet and walked to her. Rachel smiled sadly at the filly. She held the bottle to the filly and the filly began to nurse from the bottle. "Your name will be Angel's Princess in honor of your mom." she said softly. She knew that Edward would be mad at her for leaving the house without telling him when she was like this but she had to see the foal. It was still raining outside and she was still in mourning but for the death of Angel but she had to move on to take care of this filly that Angel gave to her.

Edward parked his truck outside. Trigger jumped from the truck and started sniffing around for Rachel's scent. Trigger was Edward's trained sniffing dog. Trigger found the scent and Edward ran after him into the barn. They found her in the stall. He leaned on the stall door. Trigger had jumped into the stall and wandered up to Rachel and laid down. He was letting her know Edward wasn't mad.

Princess finish drinking the milk bottle and butted her head into Rachel's arm. Rachel saw Trigger and knew that Edward was here. Princess laid down and rested her head near Rachel. Rachel looked at the stall door and looked at Edward. "Edward, I know your not mad at me but you have every reasons to be mad at me. I left the house without telling you." she said softly. She gently rubbed the Princess's neck and sighed softly.

Edward sighed and entered the stall and went to kneel down next to her. "Rachel, I understand that you have to come see the foal. Your mourning over Angel. It's normal. You should have seen me how I was when my first pony died when I was a kid. That mare I had for a pony had a foal and died from it like Angel did to you. But, I didn't have anyone to talk to about it," he said. Trigger got up and went to sniff at the filly to see it the little thing would hurt him or play with him.

Rachel looked at Edward and gently rubbed her arms. She was still wet from the rain and she was cold. Angel's Princess looked at Trigger and flickred her black ears. The filly snorted and relaxed her ears. The filly gently nudged the dog and pricked her black ears. Rachel looked at the filly and knew that this filly would become a jumper like her mom. Rachel knew that in the stall next to Angel's Princess's stall was Vanilla and her one week old colt, Spike's Pride. Spike's Pride looked like his dad and got both of his parent's speed and stamina.

He took his jacket off from under his rain coat and put it around her shoulders. "You spend time with the Filly. I'm going to go bring Spike over to see his colt," he said. He knew eventually they had to let Spike meet his son. Trigger gently liked the filly's forehead and wagged his tail.

Rachel slid on his jacket and had a feeling that she was going to have a cold tomorrow. Angel's Princess whinnied in a foally way and Rachel smiled softly. That was the first real smile since this morning when Edward got his fever. Angel's Princess looked at her owner and walked to her. Princess gently butted her owner's arm again. Rachel was going to wait a week before introducing Chest to his daughter.

Vanilla gently nuzzled her son and Pride started to nurse. Vanilla

Edward lead Spike to the stall and Spike whinnied to Vanilla and his ears went forward. The stud was healed enough to be ridden in the Breeders' Cup Classic that was coming up. Spike whinnied again to Vanilla and Pride. Trigger wagged his tail and crouched down wanting to play with the filly. He wouldn't hurt her.

Vanilla whinned and Pride whinned also. Rachel smiled at the sound of her two horses and gently patted Princess's neck. The black filly laid down and rested her head on Rachel's lap. Princess fell asleep and Rachel smiled softly at the small foal and looked at Trigger.

Edward smiled and let himself into the stall. He walked over to Vanilla and Pride and gently petted them both. He held out a sugar cube to Vanilla. He leaned down to pet the colt. Spike was staying put by the door waiting to greet Vanilla if she came over to him.

Trigger curled up beside Rachel and laid his head on her lap before falling asleep.

Vanilla at the cube and walked to where Spike. She nickered to him and nuzzled him. Pride gently butted Edward's hand. Rachel yawned softly and leaned against the stall wall. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. She was tired due to all the worrying and crying. Angel's Princess still had her small black head rested on Rachel's leg.

Spike nuzzled Vanilla and gently licked her cheek. He had missed looking in to the stall beside his to see her. He was just glad he was able to see her now. He flicked his tail. Trigger curled closer to Rachel to keep her warm. Edward rubbed the colt a little more before leaving to go check on Rachel and the filly. He smiled seeing the three of them asleep and knew he'd haveto carry Rachel to the truck.

Vanilla looked at her son and nickered. Pride went to his mom's side and looked at the other horse near his mom.

Edward smiled softly and moved to go pick up Rachel after moving the filly's head. He covered the filly in Angel's old blanket and Trigger followed him. Spike lowered his head to greet his son. He knew to be gentle and that Edward would probably take him back to the other barn before leaving.

Rachel put her arms around his neck while she was still sleeping. Pride pricked his ears and whinnied in a foally way. Vanilla watched her son with pricked ears.

Spike stretched his neck down and nuzzled the colt. He was happy. But, hedidn't want to leave Vanilla tonight. He nickered and tossed his head telling her to back up so he could come in. He knew how to open and close stalls. Edward opened the truck door carefully and gently set her into the truck and did up her seat belt. He had to wake her for the ride home. He leaned in and gently kissed her lips knowing that would wake her up. Trigger had jumped into the truck bed and curled up wanting to see Luna so he could stay up most of the night with her again.

Vanilla backed up in her stall and Pride followed his mom. Vanilla and Pride made room for Spike. Rachel slowly woke up and looked at Edward.She smiled tiredly at him and yawned softly. She rubbed her eyes in a cute way and looked at Edward. She was ready to go home and go to bed. But first she was going to take a warm shower or bath so she won't get sick tomorrow.

Spike let himself into the stall and closed it and walked to them before laying down as he was tired. He just wanted to be with them tonight. Edward smiled at her. "Stay right here. I'm going to go put Spike away," he said.

She smiled tiredly and nodded. Vanilla gently nuzzled Spike and Pride laid down near his mom. Pride fell asleep

Spike nipped at Vanilla wanting her to lay down with him to sleep. Edward went to go get Spike but found him in the stall with Vanilla and Pride ready to fall asleep. He smiled and went back to the truck. "Hmm, he's already in Vanilla's stall almost asleep. I'll come back in the morning to put him in his pasture," he said.

She nodded and rested in the truck. Vanilla laid down between her son amd Spike and fell asleep.

Edward got into the truck and drove them home to get some sleep.
