Working their horses(James)

He woke feeling a snap and moved his legs. His back was healed. But, he pulled the huge blanket over them both and went back to sleep.

She snuggled into his side and smiled

He felt warm now. He snuggled her and got his arms around her. He liked cuddling and resting with her.

She slowly woke up and looked up at him. She smiled softy and remembered that they were in the bed of the truck

He woke and smiled at her. "My back feels healed. We should continue working our horses," he said.

She smiled and nodded. She got up and got off the truck. She smiled at him. "Let's go finish working our horses. I have one more horse to work today." she said smiling.

He got off the truck and sighed. "I have two more. I hope you tied Bat to her punishment post," he said. Bat snorted and was pawing at the ground. She had dumped her water bucket.

She nodded and went to Shooting Star's stall. She led out the prancing two year old chestnut colt.

James lead Kyos Fargo out of the stall. The mare was jumpy and never got along with colts or stallions. But, today she wanted to be around the colt.

Star pinned his ears back and she led the colt away from the mare. She groomed him and tacked him up. She led him to the track

He lead the mare to the track after getting her ready. He mounted and rode her onto the track.

She mounted the colt and guided him onto the track. She started to trott him

He got the mare into a canter. Then tapped her right into a racing gallop. The mare was loving this. She normally lead for about the whole race when lots of horses were behind her.

Shoting Star pinioned his ear back and she cantered him a little. She urged him to gallop and he went into a racing gallop. He was coming up on the mare and he stayed behind her until he made his move. She held Star until she knew the colt was ready to go into his super drive.

He looked under his arm at them. Then he tapped the mare. Kyo flew forward on the track. She was kicking up dirt to cause dust to get away. The mare was smart and never once has lost to a colt. She never would. She snorted as her pace and her strides got longer until she was in a racing bolt.

She frowned and flickered her crop. The colt pinned his ears back and swhitched leads. He went into his super drive and was flying down the track. They were slowly catching up to Kyo and she smirked. She urged the colt to go faster and the colt increased his super drive. They were now racing down the homestretch and the colt continue to increase his speed.

James slapped Kyo with the crop. She lurched forward into her hyper drive. She sped down the track faster than the colt. He looked towards Carolyn and knew she wouldn't like this.

She frowned softly and she knew the colt was doing his best. Both horse and rider moved as one as they flew down the track and to the wire. She asked the colt if he had any more speed left in him and the colt increased his speed. The colt was tiring but he was putting every ounce of his heart into this. They flew under the wire in second place and she slowed down the tired colt. She patted his neck. "Good boy. You ran your heart out and your a winner to me." she said smiling. The colt snorted and started to walk.

Kyo tossed her head and flicked her tail. She had won against another colt. James turned her around to cool her out. She was walking now. She wouldn't mind if when the colt got older if they bred them together.

The two year old colt snorted and she stopped him at the railing. She dismounted and led him back to the barn. She looked at the colt with a concern look. She led him into the barn and untacked him. She then led him to the washing stalls and clipped him to the crossties. She turned on the hose and ran it over his body.

He showered Kyo, dried her and put her away. He took racing gear outside and got his new racer ready to go. He led him into the barn. Stripes made a strange call. He was half zebra.

She then put soap on the colt's body and rinsed it off. She then dried him off and led him back to his stall. She put him in his stall and sat down on a hay bale outside of his stall with a sigh

He stopped by her colt's stallion. Stripes nickered. "Want to come watch me work this big boy. He may be different but you should see him run," he said. Stripes made a zebra noise again as he was half zebra.

She nodded and got up. She took off her helmet and held it. She smiled. "okay. I'm interested to see this guy run." she said smiling.

"I know he may be a cross breed but it's with two very fast breeds. Someone bred his father a great thoroughbred racer with a female zebra to get him. So hopefully he's fast enough," he said. He held Stripes still. The stud looked stronger than any horse James had handled today on the track.
